The term et al.<\/em> is an abbreviation of the Latin et alii<\/em>, which means \u201cand others.\u201d In scientific literature, it is used to credit all authors of a study without listing each name.<\/h2><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>The science<\/strong> it is built over the collaboration<\/strong>: bringing together diverse skills, perspectives, and resources to address challenges ranging from fundamental questions to pressing global issues. However, one of the biggest obstacles remains communication. Whether among colleagues, to the public, or through outreach initiatives, making science accessible and engaging is essential for it to be valued and applied by society.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg><\/span> At a time when science is facing increasing pressures\u2014from the migration of PhD graduates to non-academic sectors 1<\/sup> and mental health challenges 2<\/sup>, to reduced funding 3, 4<\/sup> and even growing skepticism toward science itself 5, 6<\/sup>- collaboration (et al.<\/em>) is more important than ever. It is urgent to rethink the role of science in times of planetary crisis 7 <\/sup>and question historical assumptions that have perpetuated systemic barriers in disciplines such as neotropical ornithology 8<\/sup>.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Through et al blog<\/strong> we aim to close these gaps by making science more inclusive, accessible, and impactful. Because when we work together, science is not just about generating knowledge: it is a tool for building a better present.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
